Football: Champlin Park bottles up Elks 34-0

Champlin Park's defense overwhelmed the Elk River offense and the Rebels posted a 34-0 victory over the Elks on Friday evening.


 
The Rebels (4-2) held the Elks to 54 yards rushing and 12 passing. The Elks (1-5) had only five first downs and punted six times.

 
Zach Cira, Elk junior, was the quarterback. He got sacked four times while completing just three of six for 12 yards. Evan Olson carried 10 times for 48 yards for the bulk of the Elks yards from scrimmage.

 
Offensively, the Rebels mainly kept it on the ground as Brandon Marquardt pounded for 183 yards and three touchdowns.

 
The Elks will play at Anoka next Wednesday.
